Trump has been more measured, less bombastic, more presidential this time around.
I think he knows this is what folks want, tone it down a bit
There are others who willingly play attack dog for him now
Saturday impacted him but it was clear he had toned things down.
With Biden imploding it is smart to shut up and let the other guy hang himself
It’s been a tough 8 years on the guy. Even a 32 year old would be worn out more at 40.
I too think Trump has toned down the intensity. He said right after the attack that he was changing his speech. Maybe the brush with death affected him. Or maybe it’s a political calculation of Trump wanting to seem like the nice guy while right now a lot of attention is on the Dims’ persistent violent rhetoric.

He shouldn’t “tone-it-down” on the issues. All he needs are: (1) to avoid his prior name calling and personal attacks; and (2) to stay on message with hard hitting but factual issue ads.
