What if the kid was never intended by those who set him up to ever be able to take a shot? That’s what I’m getting at here. That some G-man interfered with some other G-man’s play to effect a real attempt. They wouldn’t even care if it actually happens or not. (It wasn’t “mission critical”, just a “nice outcome.”)
