I know from almost 24 years ago, but the lefts hatred has been going on for a long time.

GWB got lampooned constantly. To this day you can still remember ‘mis-remember’, or ‘strategery’ because the media would blow-torch everything the guy said. Compare and contrast that to the purely hands-off treatment Biden has got for his terrible speaking the last 3+ years.

But that doesn’t go back far enough.
I remember Reagan was the favorite target of comedians. Both stand-up type as well as late-night. The MSM wasn’t easy on him either but for people in the entertainment world, Reagan had the figurative bullseye on him. It was constant.

And both Reagan and GWB had their fair share of innuendo about assassination against them. Reagan actually got shot, and the guy who shot him had mental problems, but it’s hard not to surmise that a culture that stokes the minimization of your president didn’t contribute to his mental state in the moment.

In my lifetime the only prominent Republican who wasn’t called a Nazi was the one who *beat* the Nazis: Eisenhower.
