Michigan and Pennsylvania border Ohio. The three states have much in common. Vance is a Catholic (converted in 2019). Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin have lots of Catholics. His wife is Indian of immigrant parents. That may help in certain areas. For example, the Dallas suburbs of Irving and Coppell have large Indian populations, who lean Democratic.
