A few years ago, I stepped into a pothole while walking across the dirt parking lot at a horse show... I had my head turned as I was talking to someone. I came down hard on all fours, ripped both knees on my jeans, had massive black bruises on both knees, scraped the skin off both palms, and spilled the water bottle I was carrying into my bag, which destroyed my cell phone. When I hit the ground, I was absolutely stunned. I’m in fairly decent shape, work out 6 days a week, eat (mostly) healthy, but the next day I could hardly move. Every bone in my body hurt. All from a simple trip & fall! I can’t imagine being gang-tackled so hard that you are knocked clean out of your shoes.
