As a high school freshman, I remember when Nixon came to Rockford, IL, for a campaign rally much like Trump’s. It was at the local airport .I distinctly remember seeing men on the hanger roofs overlooking the entire crowd. I couldn’t see rifles, but I was damn sure they had them. EVERY roof had at least one person up there. Snipers to protect the President, to be sure.

Kinda interesting that Trump wasn’t so well protected.

After the JFK assassination the Secret Service became fanatical about controlling all the high ground and sniper prevention tactics.

Nowadays both drones and deploying of personnel and other portable surveillance technology makes it a lot easier to fulfill that mission.

That is why it is a virtual certainty that at least some SS supervisors and/or team leaders were part of the plot.
