It's getting insane how far tipping is expanding outside the normal areas. I was ordering a custom gaming PC for my son's birthday online, get to the checkout screen and there is an option to "tip your PC builder" suggesting 20% on a freaking $2,000 order. Now I'm worried if I tip nothing, they'll screw something up on purpose. Finally, out of frustration and annoyance, I cancel the order and go with a different company with no such option. Utterly ridiculous!
Yep - Taco Bell asks you when you place your order if you want to round up to contribute to the ‘student fund’. Sounds shady as heck but I worry they will do something to my food if I say no.
That's where this is at. Just like friendly Sicilian neighborhood watch 'vigilantes'.
Pay the suggested 'tip' because otherwise...
