I am starting to just avoid these places that demand a tip for no reason. That's how I avoid the awkwardness of the situation.

When Lou Malnati's frist came to my area, I went and gave it a try. Ordered their "largest" pizza which was about 10" in diameter. Anyhow, no toppings, just cheese for pick up. IIRC it was somewhere north of $30, then tax. I went to pay and she flipped the screen around with the pre-set tips amounts of like 20-40-60 percent.

What? Exactly how much should I be shelling out for a cheese pizza? And this was BEFORE inflation was kicked into high gear. Didn't live up to the hype, never had a desire to go back, that didn't help.

When someone goes to work and their job is to bring your plate of food out like we do at home when we aren't working, and they refill your tea glass like we do at home when we aren't at work, then by all means tip.

Tip when someone does their routine job.
