“”””””We had a customer in our bar in Seattle that drank beer and never tipped. One day he said, β€œhey why does this other guy always get a frosted mug every time he orders another beer and you put refill mine in the same glass?” The barkeep said, β€œ no tip, warm glass. Tip, frosty glass.” He started tipping after that.””””””

I would sure fire that bartender if he was working my customers like that.

I would sure fire that bartender if he was working my customers like that.

If, upon being hired, the boss instructed the employees to "just take one of the mugs right off the rack - it otherwise takes too long to actually chill it," then the bartender is just following orders.

If the boss told them, "always put a couple dozen beer mugs in the fridge, so they get nice and cold - our customers love that," then the bartender would be violating orders, and should be admonished.

Regards,
