Each of these four snakes will be discussed in detail, along with information about their habitats, frequency of human predation, and other relevant details.

I know an anecdotal story, but some 10 years ago after a 3 inch in an hour rain storm in DFW a somewhat 12 foot snake wrapped itself amongst a passenger mirror on a car at a hotel where I was working, must have come from a sewer. Tried to call animal control but they were closed after 6:00 PM. The renter of the car came out and wanted to get something to eat, we showed him the snake and he decided to drive anyway, when he got back he said once he got to 60 mph, the snake slipped off and was roadkill.

True story.

I can sum it up:

1. African Rock python. Attacking and eating humans: only sometimes

2. Burmese python. Attacking and eating humans: sure, but not very often

3. Green anaconda. Attacking and eating humans: conclusive evidence is mostly snake poop by now.

4. Reticulated python. Attacking and eating humans: a couple in Indonesia, a few in the Philippines, some plantation workers, zoo keepers, garden owners and drunk people. Probably OK other than that.

Honestly, they just want a hug.

Well Bill, as the great communicator said: “Trust but verify.”

Please submit video of you testing your thesis. Trust but verify.
