the old will eventually die off on their own. It just takes time, then you get to reset with a younger, smaller still fertile population.

You’ve given me an idea.

On subsistence, non-mechanized farms, the more children you have, the more help you’ll have. Even the very young can repair rice paddy walls from small breaches, or weed with their tiny hands. You live in poverty, but your family is your work force and there’s no place for laziness.

In an industrialized city, someone has to mind the children while you’re at work until they are old enough to work, too. When you come home and take over the child care for grandma san, you’re tired and burnt out from working all day, and the kids are clamoring for attention, and with more children there are more mouths to feed until they’re old enough to work in a factory, too, which is much more dangerous and exhausting than a child’s work on a small farm. So they are not helping until they’re ten years old or older. Until then, they’re a drain and a pain in the arse. Grandma san gets older and can’t be trusted with the youngest anymore, and the older ones treat them bad if not supervised, which grandma san might be too senile or feeble to do. So the incentives for having a lot of kids is extremely absent. They’re nothing but trouble.

What to do? Women want a career? Have in-house factory day care. The women working with the kids in the day-care have their maternal instinct awakened, and they want a bundle of joy of their own, which they can watch as part of their career as factory day-care workers. Mama san and Papa san go home together with baby, show them off on the subway, coo and play with the kid, and want brothers and sisters for their little darling.

Incentive problem solved. Population grows. North Korea doesn’t invade with their numerically superior army, because they won’t be numerically superior. US still considers South Korea a worth-while ally, and invests resources.

The Sorks (?) have tried encouraging children, but it hasn’t helped, for reasons I postulated in my last post. I think I’m onto something there.

Gentlemen, start your engines. Ladies, pave your driveways and clean out the garage. Beep beep.

Thanks for saying what is really the problem. Modern feminism is the reason. Women have been lied too, that a career is more fulfilling than being a mother.

There is more to it than that. Socialist or not, simple decency demands that elders be cared for. How to accomplish that in an age-top-heavy society is VERY difficult. I am aware of no successful example.

The women working with the kids in the day-care have their maternal instinct awakened, and...

More likely those women go home too exhausted for sex. (Kinda what happened with my wife when she went back to teaching 2nd grade at a church run school, and those kids are way better behaved than average.) :-(

“I think socialism always had the intent, from the outset, to cause a depopulation and population replacement.”

In the West, quite possibly, but Hitler had breeding farms and Stalin was never short on people either.

My thinking is two-fold:

1) Social Security - people think of it as sufficient to replace kids in old age...until they start approaching old age and realize that there’s more to life than just ‘money’.

2) Women Working in Career-Oriented Jobs - Obviously many women work and have families, a few with relatively large families, but many also ‘put it off’, so as to not have children get in the way of climbing the corporate ladder (so they limit to one, or even zero)...and it doesn’t take many of these women to put a country into population decline.

We have way more than enough illegals to send them. Maybe they will know what to use them for.

True. About 20 years ago we had 2-3 South Korean tailor shops open here. The husband sat on his fanny while the wife did all the work. Typical Oriental.

Metmom: the Orientals are much different. I was in Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. I visited many other Oriental countries. It is very sad to watch their men do zip while the women and even some children do work that American men usually do.

And men wonder why feminism is so popular or attractive to women.

Work it out in shifts, to avoid burn-out. What’s the worst that can happen? They still won’t make babies? For a change? OK. When Koreans go extinct, there’s a Palestinian homeland, right there, and a playground for all those invaders come in through Mexico. They deserve each other.

short term they and japan will be hurt economically, but long term they will actually be stronger

Have you heard of the Sythia? Neither have I, but apparently they were a great country that existed in present-day southwest Russia from 600 BC to 200 BC. They believed the same thing you did and are long gone.

God's mandate to Noah was probably correct: "Go forth and multiply."
