It was her vehicle license that was suspended without insurance . That is a misdemeanor traffic violation. Furthermore, the officer never even asked for identification before forcefully opening her door without first asking permission.

A police officer cannot open your car door without permission unless there's probable cause, a search warrant, or an immediate concern for public safety. The Fourth Amendment protects against unreasonable searches, requiring legal justification. It all went downhill from there and the level of violence initiated by the officers was unwarranted for a mere misdemeanor traffic violation.

She should have kept her cool and peacefully complied with the officer's request. But like many other such events, LEO's seem to have a habit of willfully escalating these encounters and use any means or excuse to claim the the defendant was resisting in order to make an arrest.
