How old was FDR in that picture? He’s standing with no visible support.

FDR was hit by polio when he was around 40. He looks maybe a bit younger than that in the photo. On the other hand, the photo could be staged. FDR might be supported there, but the support is hidden behind him.

Democrats are tricky that way.

The picture was taken sometime between 1913 and 1920 when Franklin D. Roosevelt was Assistant Secretary of the Navy.

Roosevelt caught polio in 1921.
