My dad was born and raised in Queens. He told me that the immigrants who were coming there (1930’s) were very grateful to be here and wanted to be American citizens. The Italian’s would get mad at you if you spoke Italian to them. Dad spoke Italian fluently. Dad told me he tried speaking Italian to one of the neighbors and the man said he was an American citizen and he was insulted by a kid speaking Italian to him in the United States.
Back then people wanted to come here and be Americans, make a better life for themselves. Now they come for handouts and want their new home to be the same as the $hithole they fled. Much like American liberals...they move from the blue cities and states they ruin to redstates and vote for they same thing.
