I don’t think they can make it.
Would Americans pay $4k to fly across country?
Interesting aside, I bought some bread the other day from a side of the road shop. Made in someone’s house, the old fashioned way. $15.
I couldn’t believe it. I think our quality of life in America is very low; I don’t think we even know it. The bread we eat is garbage, that’s why its only $5.
Same with our air travel. We are being robbed across the board, and it’s bad.
A dear friend worked for Pan American out of Miami back in the flying boat days. He worked on the switch over to land based operations and would visit Cuba and South American cities where Pan Am flew into.
The Cuba revolution and it’s refugees was quite poignant in respect to first person perspectives heard from the refugees sponsored by PanAm and it’s employees.
You're sitting on gold. Maybe $125 to $300 a bag per eBay.
Close the fight-clubs.
I can’t believe nobody here has wistfully longed for the return of the Trump Shuttle!
They were in an old, leather suitcase we bought for NOTHING!! Had old travel maps, too.
Great buy, Jane!
Perhaps one of, if not the greatest Airline Commercial ever. When we were proud of our country, our technology, our values.. The song, the words, the music, the faces....what a great and powerful commercial.....culminating with that beautiful jet taking off at just the right time.......

“”If this is how travel is now, I can only imagine it 70 years from now!!””
Like Chicago on a Saturday night.
I was a travel writer for Pan Am. They flew me all over the world first class and I wrote articles about the destinations for their inflight magazine. How’s that for a terrific job? Plus, my husband was just fine staying home with the teenagers. I was gone about one week per month.
When my kids grew up, they traveled a lot too. My daughter went to Brussels for a week and came home two years later after traveling all over Europe and NorthAfrica. Picked up French, which she studied in school, and Arabic, as she was interested in ruins in North Africa. My son went everywhere including Everest Base Camp and Saudi Arabia. Ah, those were wonderful years.
A far better time, in a far better America. We were still valuing competence over skin color and genitalia and celebrations of perversity.
See my post #32 on this thread, meant to send it to you too. Lots of PanAm experience.
Its maiden flight is on June 27 2025 returning July 8, 2025.
$65,500 per person (double occupancy)
$66,000 single occupancy
I would l love to be on that trip. Dromo Castle in Ireland, Savoy in London, etc.
Limited to 50 persons and they are booking now!
AA DC10 featured in that ad.
That commercial would be tough to watch for a farmer I know. He was engaged to a local girl, that happened to be a stewardess on the AA DC10 flight 191, which crashed because of mechanical failure departing O’Hare. Terrible tragedy.
A few years later he found another woman, married, and became a father. But still likely thinks of his first love.
My wife has a couple of those PanAm bags, one in light blue and one in dark blue. She gets so many comments on them
Bring back skinny stewardesses!
Unless they find a way to screen out the entitled,, the karens , and the ferals this will never get offf the ground
Boing is offering flights to the space station. One way...
