I can understand their feelings because living in Florida, I have wished the “snowbirds” go home. We love to go RVing and during the cool months when camping is at it’s best in Florida, you’re lucky to get a spot in the State Parks. But, we know tourism’s the biggest revenue for the state, so we live with it. I wouldn’t trade living in Florida for any other state period!

Yep. Florida is a “tourist state” where floridians are forced to live like tourists. Special tourist taxes on hotels and for “roads” cuz it’s needed for the tourist “infrastructure.” “ politicians are constantly telling us we NEED THE TOURIST DOLLARS! Why? So we can build more roads leading to Mickey World? I’ve lived and worked in the state for 50 years and tourism hasn’t put a dime in my pocket.

I lived in Florida for the past 26 years, now we live in Alaska. Guess what, it’s not 100 nor is it 100% humidity-no fleas, ticks-yes there are mosquitos, but did I mention it’s not 100 outside. I don’t have to take 4 showers a day if I do anything outside. We lived in the RV for 2 years waiting for Canada to get their heads out of their a$$ so we could cross without any requirements. Did I mention it’s not 100? :)
