I lived in Florida for the past 26 years, now we live in Alaska. Guess what, it’s not 100 nor is it 100% humidity-no fleas, ticks-yes there are mosquitos, but did I mention it’s not 100 outside. I don’t have to take 4 showers a day if I do anything outside. We lived in the RV for 2 years waiting for Canada to get their heads out of their a$$ so we could cross without any requirements. Did I mention it’s not 100? :)

You doubled down on inept in broadband conversation. You are literally quite literal. Ie. You're autistic and cannot grasp sarcasm or puns, or jokes requiring a broad interpretation of the subject being discussed.

iow sit down unless someone addresses you specifically.

Lemme spell it out for the laterals . The brown tourists I referred to, are the millions of illegal immigrants that have shown up in the u.s. in the past 4 years. DUH!

If I’m not wanted by the locals, there is a very easy solution to that. On the other hand, I wonder how business-owners in Barcelona feel about this protest. Additionally, I just recently spend a week in the Granada area and had a wonderful time. All the local establishments were extremely welcoming and courteous and provided excellent service..

Marchers don’t care. Commie trash don’t care about $$ so long as they can steal it from producers and give it out to supporters.

PRETTY CLEVER response.

MOST people have no idea how much their local economy relies on tourism.

Absolutely agree. It is a real mixed blessing - everywhere. In the old days, when only the wealthy could afford to go on vacation in another country, it wasn’t much of an issue.

Nowadays, with wealth in private hands at an all- time high all over the world, it has become a different kettle of fish.

Half of Europe crowds into Portugal, Spain Italy and Greece in the summer.

The weather and the beaches - those Brits and Scandies and Germans need somewhere to go. Majorca, Ibiza, Corfu, Mykonos... these are all major tourist destinations. I last visited Barcelona in the late 1980s, so I don't know how it has changed. I assume Las Ramblas is still the area to party.

That was Louis XVIII of France.
You could have reasonably applied it to Fernando VII of Spain, probably, similar mindset.
Both were hell-bent on restoration, instead of adaptation to changed circumstances.

But thats back in the XIX century.

The Bourbons were, more generally, held to be leading edge innovators, as monarchs went. Not always to good ends.

Do you want the illegal aliens of all other colors to leave too? Or just the brown ones?

Native Hawaiians have a problem with tourists-the militant ones.

George Orwell was one of the Catalonia ‘tourists’.

Yes, indeed. That is relatively new- and it has added a lot to the problem of mass tourism in recent years.

Don‘t worry, normally the tourist crowds are much smaller in the fall, and the weather is much milder than in the summer - though often still beautiful.

You really should have an wonderful time in Barcelona 😀

Such is the Freeper lecturing others whom he claims to know "backwards and forwards," and whom he deems to have "no redeeming features."

Oh yeah, this guy is a joke. He’s a Filipino who hates Americans and he has a whale of an inferiority complex. He’s always trying to cover for it by telling people how “superior” he is.

A lot of us just laugh at him.

Mr. Buwaya is right. Spain‘s entry into the EU(ssr) provided just, metaphorically speaking, the whipped cream on the cake of mass tourism.

But there is a second helping of cream now: huge numbers of tourists from Asia, now that so many Chinese and Indians are able to vacation abroad.

These numbers add up…🙁

Orwell showed up to help out in a Spanish war. This has pretty ancient precedents, lots of foreign “war tourists” have gone to Spain. Much of this is little known outside of Spain.

Actual Floridians are at the bottom of the list for support from the state government. It’s immigrants first, legal and illegal, then says, then tourists and finally people born and raised in FL.
