DeWolf Hopper, a vaudevillian, made a living traveling the country giving performances of all thirteen verses of today's puzzle, en claire, of course. He is more well known today as the father of William Hopper, with his wife Hedda. William Hopper portrayed Perry Mason's sidekick, Paul Drake in the long running TV series.

William Hopper, prewar, post Perry Mason, as a USMC Diver in the Pacific during World War II. Ironically, DeWolf Hopper and Gail Patrick (later Gail Patrick Jackson, Executive Producer of Perry Mason) co-starred in a film in the 1930's.
