I seem to remember reading Caligula had a penchant for
robbing Alexander’s tomb of items such as armor and prancing around in it.
Then, Alexander’s remains disappeared. Probably buried secretly for safe keeping whatever was left.
There is a scene in one of Stephen Saylor’s historical fictions of Rome where the star of the story is with Augustus in Alexandria when Augustus kisses Alexander on the cheek and does knock his nose aside.
