“My zoomie buddy recommended I change from USAA as he got better rates elsewhere”
I just drop USAA as my car insurance provider. I might move my home owners insurance too. Car Insurance along I am saving 1500 a year.
We dropped California USAA after about 40 years and went with Safeco. Saved about the same amount as you. But now Safeco rates have shot up (as all insurers are doing).
I find it curious that all insurers are really raising rates far beyond inflation when their losses don’t seem to be out of line with prior decades. Maybe you can argue Western forest and wildfires have gotten worse, but that’s due to government malfeasance managing forests.
Former JAGC here. Every time I got a homeowner’s quote from USAA it was way higher than everybody else. We used to have mutual funds with them but the basis problem was more than we were willing to deal with, so we went straight into the market and didn’t do mutual funds anymore.
I dropped them from auto and homeowners years ago as they were not the cheapest. They did have good claim service then.
30 year member and looking at alternatives as well. Insurance expensive and customer service terrible.

Wonderful!
But who did you move TO? TIA
