Before my husband passed, our plan was to re-visit the great National Parks in the West - we hadn’t been in years - and also to visit the Florida Keys in three sections - we’d already done the top section and were planning to visit the middle section next, then the bottom section the following year but it didn’t happen (husband had a lot of family in the Miami area).
No one else in my family is interested in seeing the U.S. - they are focused on going to Europe for some reason.
I’m guessing they think they’ve seen it all.
Funny you mentioned the Keys. It’s the one part of Florida I haven’t ever been to. I got as far as Coral Gables as a kid. Well, and the Miami airport twice but I’m not sure that counts for much. I would like to go to the Keys sometime, just not sure when. Maybe in the middle of winter to get away from the gray skies some year.
We are talking about going to the Grand Canyon sometime. My husband’s never been, and it’s been on my bucket list forever to take him there. Pictures don’t suffice. They can’t capture that amazing, oh so beautiful a place. Words can’t describe it. We aren’t getting any younger, so we better start planning.
Maybe you have some friends who might be interested in seeing more of the US. My sister and her husband have travel buddies that they do things like this with, they get along so well and are fun companions.
