Exactly.
I did a lot of public speaking—required for my job—in younger days.
I probably made over a thousand presentations over the years.
I quoted all sorts of people during that time.
Not once did I say “end of quote”.
The way normal people handle it is they say:
So and so said such and such.
Then you pause for a few seconds. That is how the audience knows the quote is over.
Then you continue your remarks.
How many say out loud “Salute the Marines” while walking past a Marine detail?
