I came here from the UK, I was surprised at the American view of Badminton. First, those around me insisted it was called ‘Badmitton’. Second, learning their understanding of it being some ‘backyard amusement’ game - vs. the incredibly challenging level of competition I used to engage in. You don’t see it on TV here, most seem to have never seen competitive play.
Yeah, I’ve never seen badminton on TV, even during the Olympics (not that I’ve watched much of any Olympics for many years now). I did go to a few of my nephew’s matches and was amazed at the play.
