I’d gladly take some of your rain if you’d send it southeast. Not a drop in two weeks, with highs around 90 and high humidity. Mr. Ranger has been watering the tomatoes and we have lots of green ones. The rest of the garden has to make do with morning dew. Next chance for rain won’t be until mid-week.
The good news is the beans are blooming and the corn stalks are still green and growing. The potato plants have died off, but that’s normal. I’ll check in the morning to see if I can dig enough for a mess of creamed potatoes.:)
We could use rain, too. The geography deflects most of the weather to our north or south, so lots of areas around us are wet enough.
I suppose on the bright side, the garlic is happy because the recommendation is that you stop watering before harvesting it and it’s well on it’s way to ripening.
My tomatoes have NO blight, a first in a VERY long time. They are lush and loaded with tomatoes.
Overall, the garden is in great shape by now but I’d still rather not have to water.
Oh, another advantage of the dry weather is that the deer ticks need moisture to survive and a dry spell, with this kind of heat and low humidity will help take them out.
