If true, such a deal will quickly become known and have devastating consequences for the Bidens and the Democrats. It will do nothing to shield subordinate officials and could provide an independent basis for prosecution of everyone involved. At a minimum, the news media, a GOP Congress, and a Trump DoJ could put enough on record through investigation and hearings as to generate lasting grief for the Bidens and the Dems.
