Day 34 - VERDICT WATCH - Deliberation enters its fourth day on Friday. Jurors have deliberated for close to fifteen hours. They are deciding whether Karen Read intentionally struck and killed her boyfriend, John O’Keefe, a Boston Police officer. If convicted, Read faces up to life in prison.

They are hung.
Perhaps they will be eventually but as of now that hasn’t been reported yet that.
Seventeen hours in the jury foreman has sent a note to the court saying they can’t come to a decision, the judge disagrees and is sending them back to deliberation over the Defense’s objection.
Like voters, both sides are dug in. Nothing will make them change their minds.
Now we wait on the federal matter.
Hopefully it is decided by close of business today, time will tell. Can’t wait for the Federal report / indictments.
I’m amazed she wasn’t acquitted, hopefully at some point we’ll know what the split was, many believe more than one voted guilty.
The lead investigator Proctor was prompted relieved of his duties yesterday and is awaiting a hearing to see what his fate will be.
I haven’t followed this close enough to have a firm opinion. But it seems to be an unusual case. Unfortunately she comes across as cocky and arrogant at times which doesn’t help her defense.
