I’m surprised, usually they just make up some BS about something suddenly coming up at the last minute, or just flat out don’t respond and block you.
Like the one I called 2 hours before a date to confirm arrival time, only to be told she’d just gotten engaged.
My reply: Please give my condolences to your fiance.
