1. Lower household risk. = I feel very confident neither my black lab nor my chocolate lab puppy is going to shoot me.

2. lower “harm” rates. = you don’t need a gun to kill yourself. Look at Japan which has strict gun control and has long had high suicide rates. The same holds for China. I’m not suicidal anyway.

3. schools. = neither of my labs attends school.

4. decreased urban violence = here they just flat out lie and claim more guns means more violence. No it doesn’t.

5. lower law enforcement fatalities = law enforcement fatalities are not the highest in places with the highest rates of gun ownership. They’re the highest in places with strict gun control laws like large cities.

6. Reduced gun theft. = I work from home and have my guns secure. This is not a big concern.

7. cutting down on “gun” violence = my guns are not used to commit acts of violence. The only instance in which they might would be if I were forced to act in self defense. In that case, I want them to be quite violent.

8. International image = I LIKE that America is well known for being the most heavily armed nation on earth. That is an effective deterrent. The kind of people who would whine and cry about that are exactly the kind I don’t ever want to move here.

9. Community trust = strong fences make good neighbors. Said alternatively, a well armed society is a polite society. Community trust goes up when there is a lack of diversity. More diversity means less community trust. YES! its true no matter how much you lefties don’t want to hear it! Look at the actual data.

10. Lower mass shooting rates = but again this is simply not true. Mass shooters will always be able to obtain guns if they want them. Or they can use other means like bombs or planes or even a truck to cause mass carnage if that is their intent.

11. Non Violent Conflict Resolution = what do you think I’ve been doing all my life? I’m not violent toward anyone and won’t be unless I’m forced to defend myself.

12. Promotes public health = your description sounds like a socialist utopia. In any event, your little fantasy here is in no way connected to guns.

13. Decreased accidental child deaths = the rate of those is quite low and can be prevented by responsible gun ownership. In my case my chocolate lab puppy spends all his unsupervised time in the crate. So I’m not worried about him shooting himself....if he could get hold of a gun which he can’t anyway.

14. Less domestic violence deaths = since I’m not married this is not a concern. What however do you say to the female who is often the victim and has no chance of defending herself without a gun?

15. Lower insurance costs = Your first actual point! Yep, my insurance costs would be lower if I didn’t have to insure my guns. It is a cost I choose to bear.

16. Reduced police misconduct = cops will be nicer if they know nobody is armed. I wonder if people in Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia or the CCP or Communist Cuba or Cambodia under Pol Pot or people in Iran under the Mullahs would agree with that. Something tells me they would not.

17. Paramedics worried about running into armed people = this is such a stretch its just laughable. My nephew is a paramedic. Armed people are not one of his big concerns.

18. Strengthens Democracy = I would argue a disarmed populace makes a democracy weaker. When the government has all the power, it naturally becomes more coercive and less democratic.

So on balance the only actual point you had was that my insurance costs are higher. That is a price I am willing to pay for all the benefits of gun ownership.

I have enough acreage that I do not need to crate any dog I have.

DOG & HORSES are sentinels.

All tell me that something is amiss.

FINDING the COYOTE the horses see is the hard part. They blend into landscape all too easily.
