I’m in a similar situation, but at the moment I’m employed full-time. For how long, I’m not sure
Any tips on looking for contract work? Any particular website you used?
Also, how was the transition to contract work? I have this impression they expect contractors to know everything and hit the ground running.

Hang out a shingle and start networking. Start with independent companies for any overflow business and start from there.
I could use advice myself.
A couple of weeks ago I jumped ship.
My UK owned company was bought by another larger euro company and I inherited an unreal non technical micro management system. This crowd had 0 concepts of how anything worked.
I’m in decent financial shape.
At least I picked up a commercial drone license recently. Trying to figure out how to get established. Ditto the SY 701, long overdue. A couple of others are on the short list. The accredited cybersecurity class is still on track.
Both euro crowds never wanted to reimburse or assist with anything but wanted to know what I learned. Another reason I bailed.
I kept the advanced knowledge in my head.

LinkedIn has good job postings. Monster has slid way down the hill. Beware of Asian Indian recruiters. I have never ever gotten a call back from one after the initial conversation.

Easy. Yeah, I know my stuff but the best part is no office politics and everything is remote with my job. Of course I don’t get paid for holidays but the pay is better.
