Churchill was right about the Krauts when he said “The Hun is either at your feet or at your throat.’’

Did Churchill actually say that? Or is it apocryphal?

I've heard the same saying made about Arabs. And about Jews.

It might be one of those saying that have long been applied to whichever group one currently wishes to disparage.

There are many sayings attributed to Churchill, Lincoln, and Mark Twain, which I assume they never said. It seems that when there's a saying in search of a father, those are some of the go-to guys.
