Well - I think they are VERY rare. I understand not wanting to pander to them, or to promote them. But Melania’s statement about equality and individual rights makes for a good headline. Putting it into action is more problematic. Can a child day care place refuse to hire the bearded drag queen? Etc.
An aside. The whole homosexual marriage thing was fought in court IIRC based on the tax breaks that married couples received which homosexual partners could not get. I’ve always thought that it is too bad that it wasn’t two conservative homosexual partners instead. And they could have argued that taxes were too high, and that taxes needed to be lowered for everyone so that homosexuals weren’t unfairly treated.
