If every Texan was cut off from meat and then went hunting in under a year both species would be extinct and not every Texan would have one. Same for fish of fresh water the local lakes don’t have enough to feed the whole population. The modem number of people in not only Texas but North America exists ONLY because of industrialized agriculture and confined animal feeding operations aka factory farms. You cannot hunt your way to 330 million people in the USA food supply it’s not possible. If they shut down confined feeding operations then yes meat will not exist a few months after everything is hunted to extinction assuming people are even allowed to hunt. Five deer tags a year for every Texan would extinct the species and the game department knows this it’s only five because most people don’t hunt. Small animal ops in the back yard or back 40 might fair better assuming feed could be had. The feed lots could be ordered to stop making chicken feed or hog feeds they
Would it be shut down. A back yard cannot grow enough corn,soy beans and alfalfa to feed chickens ,pigs or cattle. It’s 20-25 acres per cow for grazing, sheep can get by on 5 each. Chickens and pigs can’t eat grass or pasture so you need corn or some other grain plus a protein source like peas or soy beans. A couple of acres could feed a flock of chickens for a single family. Does anyone really believe that if they are killing chickens en mass at CAFO the dotgov is going to allow people to keep live birds in their back yards they will send a FDA swat team yes this exist a d yes they will shoot people over a bird flu cull then the dog too it’s how they roll.
