For a site that once claimed it had 400,000 eyeballs visiting it can't raise a lousy half million bucks a year.

Either the number was a total fraud or FR has the largest group of destitute readers on the planet.

I'll continue to donate but like many of the other FReepers that have gone the the great beyond, my time is closing, so good luck with the fund raisers but I still think that there should be a small usage fee.

I don't think the number was a fraud. But it seems this place today only has a fraction of the users that it had 20 years ago.

This place has always skewed towards Boomers (and older) with a few GenX'ers like myself. I don't think there's a whole lot of regular posters here who are under forty, if there are any at all.

And, well, the Boomers are leaving us. For every "Rest in Peace" thread there's probably a hundred old FReepers whose passings go unannounced. They simply stop posting here.

I was going to go look at the numbers only to discover that alexa.com, the great website-ranking tool is no longer active.
