Part of the problem is folks are naturally afraid to speak freely because of the current Communist legal environment. So they are also naturally self regulating their own participation and in turn donations as an unfortunate side effect of this self regulation. And they have just cause to worry, we are now in an environment where what you have said, say now, or say in the future can and WILL be used against you at some point.
Yes. The main thing is that the freedom to assemble is completely gone.
