I don’t believe they ever will, but they’ll spend all our money looking for the ‘big one’.

All this expense and all of this effort, devoted by scientists to discover "proof of life". If I believed that life could occur spontaneously, I would probably be impressed.
But - another gigantic waste of money better used elsewhere.
