All organizations seem to eventually end up in leftist entropy.
When I asked an old friend to join a group which I had been in for a number of years, he demurred, said that he was not a joiner, and explained his convictions about any outfit being only as good as the current and future members, regardless of past history or charter.
Sadly, the passage of thirty-odd years has shown him to be more sagacious than I. It sort of sucks to be standing on the far side of 65, realizing how little there actually was/is to believe in.
I was always a cynic—assumed everybody was a liar and/or cheat until they proved otherwise with a long track record of integrity.
The benefit of that approach is the occasional wonderful surprise when someone showed me I was wrong.
