Raise you son in a manner that when he has his own child and you say “Your a good Dad” he responds “ Thanks Dad I had a good teacher”

Do the best ya can, because nothing will prepare you for the heartbreak a kid will gibe you... a son and a daughter haven't talked to me for years because I scolded them for not living up to their own promises. the 3rd and eldest his here head on straight and recently received her teaching degree. going for her Masters next year.
No advice to offer. I thought I was a good dad. a cool dad... a fair dad... apparently I wasnt. And I sit back hurt and sightly resentful, when they sit back and not care at all living with their mother...
