I wonder how much gain of function work is being done on rabies.
As I understand it the Bible predicts over 50% of the world’s population will perish during the Tribulation ... Cause could be biological or nuclear or a world gone crazy with hate.
It may be what God allows when the horsemen at let loose and viruses and plagues sweep the world taking a 1/3 of it out in the last days
But then again, God may allow something completely different to accomplish it.

Rabies is a disease caused by a virus. It is not a defense mechanism caused by some sort of "venom" they carry. Bats with rabies DIE of rabies.
Unfortunately the real situation seems to have conflated with the Dracula legend so now if a bat bites a person he goes crazy and bites two people, they go crazy and bite four people, they go crazy and bite eight people and so the corruption spreads throughout the vorld!!!
