For me it was the 2008 US Open at Torrey Pines, with a 19-hole Monday playoff between Woods and Rocco Mediate. Both at only -1 at the end of regulation play. Lee Westwood at even par, and everyone else at +2 or higher. Really pulled for Rocco, but it was Woods, bad leg and all, who prevailed.
The USGA guys that prep those courses do not mess around.
They prep a course so the pros have to work.
I don’t remember what year it was, but the players could have swung freely off the tee except for the fact that missing the fairway or running out was a disaster
I love it when the scoring is more US Open scores instead high teens and beyond.
