Rory McIlroy will have nightmares about the putts that he missed on Nos. 16 and 18...at the U.S. Open for years to come.
The devastating putts allowed Bryson DeChambeau the chance to hang with the Northern Irishman and capture his second career major...
The golfer did not stay to talk with reporters after the collapse, instead hopping into his tournament-sponsored vehicle and quickly exiting Pinehurst.
Video from multiple reporters showed McIlroy leave the venue hastily, seeming to spin his tires before driving out of the parking lot.

Yes….Yes…Yes
I actually loathe that little runt. Played with Pres Trump and then ran his mouth about covid. A “lethal global pandemic” that was going to kill everyone, but never shut down sport or affected his livelihood.
His divorce has been called off, for now.
When Tiger married he was already someone and he had to cough up some legit dough.
The mick was a relative nobody when he hooked up with her and subsequently married and had a kid with.
I’m thinking she’d be getting some serious $$$$$
Wouldn’t be surprised if the mick had a talk with Tiger
The Trump Curse struck again?!
“The problem is mine,” McIlroy said in a May 2014 statement. “The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails. I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had.
Well, not too many people can get it in the hole from 3 feet away, so, he shouldn’t feel bad.
McIlroy has always been a d*ck.
I guess if he had made it we would have talked about DeChambeau’s 3 foot miss.
It was a brutal course, only 9 players were under par. No gimmes anywhere, especially the greens. That said Bryson got into trouble multiple times in the rough but managed to dig his way out.

Happy with today’s outcome. Having said that, for sake of accuracy, Rory had four majors under his belt by 2014 (and still has four) when he started dating his wife. He had 13 overall wins when they married in 2017. Hardly a relative nobody.
Tory will go down in history as one of the best golfers in the world. . And he came from a very poor home, unlike most pro golfers. His dad was the bartender at the country club and his mom was a cleaning woman who worked extra hours so they could afford golf lessons for their talented son,
Great admirer of Rory. My maternal ancestors were from North Ireland too. With no education or money, but lots of talent and grit.
Twice he choked. I was pulling for Bryson all the way. USA, USA,!!!
Missed putt cost him $2 million.
He bogeyed three of his final four holes with putts all measuring less than five feet. What the hell happened Rory?! This one is going to be tough to live with... All Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau who did not wilt, but Rory threw this tournament away.... and I say that as one of his biggest fans.
Point made.
But, as Tiger has said…..and I’ll paraphrase….the only trophies in my trophy case are the ones from them majors.
He’s been in the game for a while. Made the pros as young kid. He can bomb it. But he was playing agains, in his early year, against guys who couldn’t bomb it the way they do now.
The field has certialy leveled out
Didn’t she say, after their split that she was able to wear heels again?
Rory is a very talented golfer but very much a hypocrite too. He started off on the European Tour but soon left for the PGA tour and the big money. Yet, when the PGA tour was stingy with their purses and distribution of same dissatisfied players left for greener pastures with Rory being the most vocal one to chastise them for doing essentially the same thing he did, follow the money. Later we learned that he and Tiger were being paid by the PGA to defend them. So, yes, I have little regard for big mouth Rory the hypocrite.
The US Open is the only true test of professional golfers.
Augusta has an almost, holy like aura. It’s really hard to lose a golf ball there. Guys swing as hard as they can. Hardly any rough.
Greens are a bitch. I’ve been there. But that doesn’t have a lot of bad areas unless you hit it really bad
Wasn’t the US Open at Bethpage Black where the winner was over Par?
