The date most often used as the seminal moment in the history of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States was the founding the Muslim Students Association (MSA) in January 1963. Established by students at the University of Illinois, and with the support of the Saudi-dominated Muslim World League, the MSA is the oldest of the American Islamist organizations which can be said to have been dominated by Mo.Brotherhood members. The first MSA convention was held in 1963, again at the University of Illinois. The MSA created the International Graphics publishing company, and then issued newsletters and magazines including Islamic Horizons and Al-Ittihad.
