OK. Performing my own Google search for Vovchansk surrender.
The Telegraph, "Russian soldiers surrender after failed raid on chemical factory Video appears to confirm reports that troops have been giving themselves up around the town of Vovchansk", 14 June 2024
Independent, "Russian soldiers surrender after Ukrainian counter attack", 14 June 2024
Among other sources, Newsweek (citing German Bild), Kyiv Post, Yahoo news. What appears to be happening is that Russian forces advanced across the border into Vovchansk, and are getting surrounded and cut off from retreat.
Vovchansk is 30 miles NE of Kharkiv, and Kharkiv is one of the most heavily defended areas in Ukraine. Russia sending a few Battalion Tactical Groups (BTGs), or BTG sized combat groups across the border like that was not smart.
Wait a minute...
A few weeks ago wasn't the Russian advance in this area supposed to be a decisive blow to Ukraine? Is anyone talking about how this Russian offensive fizzled out? Funny how that got sent down the memory hole in the pro-Russian narrative.
