Ridley is the exception. She wasn't some girl boss warrior princess like we see in modern movies, she was a woman crew member thrust into a situation that she didn't want to be in. No false bravery, just a determination to survive and do anything it took to stay alive.
It was believable and admirable.

This is true.
You need to get rid of the Leslie headlands, Kathleen Kennedy’s, etc to right the topsided ship that is Disney.
And it’s not necessarily that they’re homosexuals, Hollywood has be rotten with them for years but back then they had talent, write good stories and weren’t pushing “The Message” instead of a good storyline. Sure they touched upon a few leftist topics but lightly, not the hamfisted, in-your-face sledgehammer radical agenda.
