I’m old enough to remember when the tree-hugger types thought that massive
mining operations unearthing highly toxic metals was a terrible insult to Muvver Earf.

But that plant food known as CO2 is getting out of control so ... on with the blasting and digging!

The Norwegians may not have to worry about big old nasty mines, cuz it's still much cheaper to dig the stuff up using African children or Chinese Uighurs.

At least that's what we're told here in the US. We have plenty of minerals, but we don't dare dig them up because it wouldn't be freemarkety of us since it would cost us more money.

We have to blindly follow what the Chicago Boys tell us that Adam Smith meant, and only allow products to come to market at the cheapest possible price, local industry and national security be damned.
