“Whataburger is now just another franchise owned by some conglomerate.”
The conglomerate is based out of Chicago. My friend was an executive at Whataburger when the takeover happened.

Their food is good, and the portions are large. At least they used to be. But SO expensive. Go to a regular restaurant, pay the same. Of course, you’d have to add on a tip at a regular restaurant.

“Learn to cook, people!”
Most people can cook, and do it well. Then it gets to a point where you just don’t want to any more. It hit me around age 70.
Some people even take cruises so they don’t have to cook. Not me, but some people. 😉

“a large Diet Pepsi is almost $4.00”
When eating out, we NEVER order anything but water — sometimes coffee. We’ll drink our pop at home. And the last time we went to a movie, we walked by the concession area and laughed at the prices. Seriously?

I lived in CA for about 15 years. Never really “got” the In-N-Out cult thing. The food was OK, but not remarkable, IMHO.

Best thing on Mickey D’s menu since they quit using tallow in their fries...
Been totally years since I allowed myself the indulgence...

"You can have a sit-down dinner for the price of their fast food," a third said. I do like a 5Gs burger now and then, but it's hardly "fast" food. It can take up to ten minutes to get your burger. You can get a burger in a pub just as fast.
And, yes, the price has gone way up. At one particular bar & grill I can get a burger, fries and a beer for the same price as just a burger and fries (no drink) at 5Gs.
The 5G fries are really good, tho'.

A lot of people don’t understand the impact upon toxic oils
to the brain. Studies show it is harmful. Dementia is claimed
to be the result of toxic oils, etc.

Five Guys prices are insultingly high. I can pay $15 for a burger there or I can spend $15 on ground beef, cheese and buns and make 4-5 burgers on my grill that are better quality.

If you can afford it fine. Just don’t eat out five times a week and then go claiming poverty.

The best burgers that I’ve had cost about $1.25. Of course I grill them myself.
