It's tragic. I've been in small (shallow) streams where the rocks are worn smooth; some covered in moss. Used to hike through them for miles, as a kid. Had my trusty Daisy BB rifle with me. How I avoided snakes I'll never know. I walked for hours. But that was in the late 1960s.
