“Didn’t need no welfare states
Everybody pulled his weight,
Gee our old Lasalle ran great,
Those were the days”
You must have started watching “All in the Family” several years after it originally started. I had recorded the original version of that song with Archie singing and Dingbat playing the piano. However, in 1993 we had a house fire and the VHS tape recording was destroyed.
Here are the actual lyrics which I remember vividly:
Didn’t need no welfare stakes.
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee I loathe a sour ingrate
Those were the days.
After complaints from the usual suspects, the sour ingrates, the lyrics were changed.
That could be, oddly I think it was about a 2002 version.
I dont remember when I started watching and dont remember it from back then. Long story short, my internal database was corrupted about 17 months ago. Some things were entirely deleted, sometimes since then I start talking about something and everything I said was correct, at least it would be if I was talking about the same subject you were but somehow got some pointers out of wack and inserted a “correct” dialog about cotton candy machines in the middle of your discussion on submarines.
I do remember that it was around 2002, maybe as late as 2004, that I turned off Fox because I couldnt stand the anti-american Israel first crap Levin and Hannity were doing and their whole array of RINO circus freaks. A guest at my house was watching AitF on TV and asked me, “Ive never understood those lyrics, what are they saying?” Those were the lyrics used on that episode then.
Its strange how the mind works.
