Due to the Gov. regulations, the engines are getting smaller, so the new cars have less power. They put turbo in, which doesn’t work too well. Turning off at stop is major problem, destroying battery and starter motor.
On my 2019 Jeep, I found out, they added special battery, just for this restart. They found no easy place to put it so they hid it somewhere in the middle of the engine. It cost me $400 just to replace it. A lot more than I could ever save on gas!
Which jeep?
Wranglers have it stashed in the freaking back quarter panel of the car. Back left if I remember right.
They stashed it under the main battery on the gladiator….
On a related side note, we’ve been collectively driving fossil fueled vehicles for decades in this nation and around the globe. Contrary to the climate change frauds and their scare tactics the environment has survived quite nicely despite their doomsday predictions. Well designed vehicles can be produced with a reasonable price point and manufacturer profitability but insane govt regulations coupled with some corporate/Unionized greed has ruined the industry.
“so the new cars have less power.”
That’s hardly true. Still a HP/torque race. Many of the turbocharged fours have more of both than the NA V8s they replaced. But longevity might well be an issue.
