I can’t keep up. Is “sex” and “gender” not the same thing, or is it?

When I was in grade school, we learned there are two sexes...male and female

There are 3 genders which referred to the spoken and/or written word..

They are: he/she/it
- if you are a he, you aren’t a she or it
- if you are a she, you aren’t a he or it
- if you are an it, you aren’t a he or she

One exception (among others) is a Naval vessel. SHE’S a good ship..NOT it’s a good ship..in this case, “she” refers to an “it”..
