Need help buying reconditioned phone for very good camera

Posted on 06/05/2024 9:15:39 AM PDT by Chicory

My phone started overheating yesterday really bad. I knew already I wanted to replace it with one that has a camera with high resolution because I need to take some photos and enlarge them.

I don't have time to research all this because I am packing to move to another state, so I am hoping you all can help because I don't have the brainpower or time I need as I am starting from scratch.

I want to get a phone that is reconditioned and hope to keep it between $200 and $250. I need to be able to enlarge from photo size to around 12" ร— 18" with very nice quality.

Thanks so much!

Check backmarket.com. My family has bought several phones from there and have been very pleased.

The Galaxy S21 also has the benefit of dual slots...one for the SIM card and one for a micro-SD card. The extra, detachable storage comes in handy.

Get a real camera. Don’t waste your time and money on a phone camera. It doesn’t matter how many pixels it has when you have a lens the size of a BB.

Thank you for the recommendations! The Galaxy 22 looks good and I bought my last two phones from Backmarket, where I am planning to get this one.

I need to keep it going until the replacement comes in as it has specialized software for my job. Luckily I don’t have to use it much right now! And not for long when I do.

I buy one of those cheap Samsung phones from tracfone every year.

They are 59.95 w free ship and come with a year of prepaid service.

The phone seems pretty good to me, they may have other cheap phones w even better cams.

I just keep these phones in the glove compartment in case I forget my regular phone and need to take a photo or make an emergency call.

After the 1yr of serviced runs out I transfer the one year of minutes and network data to a new 59.95 phone.

I have like 4000 minutes on the latest phone I got... I use the phones that have been retired as remote network cameras... they do that well.

Just search ebay for "Tracfone Samsung A03S + 1 Year of Service" and you will find the phone.

Oh, wow. Obviously I am not a photographer LOL!

I want to take pictures of some objects indoors which will be put into a book.

And I normally take photos of trees and flowers outside which I enlarge to draw from, but that doesn’t need such good quality as the ones going into a book.

I am not a photographer either, a real photographer would drive you crazy with f-stops, filters, lighting issues, and a bunch of things I do not know exists. They use that knowledge to make magic.

Google 7 Pro is over 2 years old now. The optics on this thing take much better pictures than I ever could!

A used iPhone will take great pics and will just work, every time, for years. Life is too short for Android.

Motorola phones have some of the best cameras available. I have used their phones for years over other brands for that reason.

I thank each and every one of you — I responded as well as I could but I also had to get *some* packing done.

I found out there are places near me which rent out cameras. I may sorta take TB Yoites’ advice and eliminate one criteria from the phone by renting a camera.

Thank you all so much again!

This explanation can be found on the Adobe website.

Image quality. When it comes to both compression and image quality, HEIC files win out over JPEG. The HEIC format can actually enhance the quality of photos with transparency and a broader dynamic range capabilities.
